Maybe this is common knowledge, but I never knew this until recently. I found out if you keep a marshmallow in sugar, it will stay soft! It keeps white and brown sugar from clumping. It's cheaper than one of those ceramic things, and works better. So there ya go.
And this is another use for mason jars. I like using these wide mouth jars for storing dry goods. It's a lot cheaper than buying canisters. I see mason jars all the time at yard sales for about a quarter. I like wide mouth jars because my hand fits in them when the jar gets low. And I like how they look in my pantry.
